Mini Riser


High-Exothermic Mini Riser

As metals cool, the thickest parts solidify last, but our mini risers solve this problem by feeding molten metal into any cavities that form within the casting. Suddenly, castings that once had difficulty are now consistently successful.

Calculating the Modulus

The Mini Riser utilizes the relationship between the volume and surface area of the casting. This relationship is referred to as the modulus of the casting. Calculating this modulus allows the exothermic riser to be positioned at the thickest section of the casting. This section has the highest modulus and is the last part to solidify. Because of the high exothermic content, the Mini Riser insulating sleeve will burn hotter for a longer time and provide a greater feeding capability than a conventional exothermic riser or other exothermic molding products.

Custom Formed Sleeves

Mini Riser Custom Formed When a standard size and shape won't do, contact our team. We can create custom sleeves specifically for your casting project. These sleeves are made from our patented high-exothermic blend and deliver optimum feeding conditions at temperatures of 3,000F.

Hot Topping

Improve your yield through RH-1 hot topping. The unique blend has now been specially formulated to work as a hot topping. That means it maintains the pouring temperature of the iron for all exothermic risers. We recommended a thickness of 10% of the exothermic riser diameter.
